CV
Jörg Hackermüller holds the professorship for Integrative Bioinformatics - Computational Biology at Leipzig University since 2021. At at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research GmbH - UFZ he heads the Department Computational Biology and Chemistry, which is part of the research unit Chemicals in the Evironment.
Jörg Hackermüller received his Doctor of Science from the University of Vienna after pursuing a PhD project at the Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research. He held previous appointments as a group leader at the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunoloy and the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research GmbH - UFZ. His professional training as a chemist included studies at the University of Vienna and at Karolinska Institute, Stockholm.

- Bioinformatic method development for omics data analysis and integration
- Non-coding RNAs in disease and toxicity, drug discovery, and as biomarkers
- Using omics data in chemical risk assessment and for understanding mechanisms of toxicity
